The Centenary Celebration of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SSVP), Bendur Conference,
marking 100 years of dedicated service since its inception on 10 January 1926, was celebrated
with great devotion and joy.
The celebrations began with a solemn Holy Mass at 5:00 p.m., celebrated by Fr. Walter
D’Souza, Parish Priest, with the homily delivered by Fr. Flavian Lobo, Spiritual Advisor, SSVP
Mangalore Central Council, inspiring the faithful with his meaningful message.
Following the Mass, the Centenary Program commenced at 6:30 p.m. in the Platinum Jubilee
Hall and opened with a prayer song.
The gathering was warmly welcomed by Mrs. Preetha Lobo, President of SSVP Bendur. The
Chief Guest, Mr. Joe Coelho, Central Council President, graced the occasion along with the
Guests of Honour:

A brief report on 100 years of service was presented by Mr. Flavi Lobo, Secretary, highlighting
the Society’s growth, milestones, and charitable works over the past century.
The Centenary Theme Song, sung by the members, beautifully reflected the Society’s century-
long commitment to service. A tribute to departed members was presented by Mr. Clarence
Machado, acknowledging their selfless contributions. A members’ register book dating back to
1926 was also showcased.
The dignitaries in their message appreciated and encouraged the stupendous work done by the
SSVP Bendur.A special song was dedicated and performed by Fr. Walter D’Souza, Fr. Vivek
Pinto, and Fr. Arun Lobo.
The program was further graced by the presence of the Parish Council Vice President and
Secretary, all seven Convent Superiors with the Sisters, heads of all organizations of Bendur
Parish, donors, and esteemed guests.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Walter Lobo. A meaningful skit by SSVP members,
depicting the Society’s daily activities, was highly appreciated by all present.
The program concluded with the singing of the Laudate, followed by dinner, bringing the
Centenary Celebration to a joyful and memorable close.
The entire program was beautifully compered by Ms. Anna Patrao, adding grace and warmth
to the occasion.
