The Catholic Action League (CAL), St. Sebastian Church, Bendur, successfully organized
the first programme of IGNITE 2026 – Youth Empowerment & Skill Development Series
on 12th July 2026 at the Parish Hall. The session on Photography and Reels Creation was
conducted by Mr. Vijay D’Souza, Professional Photographer & Videographer, VL Media.
The programme began with a prayer led by Mr. Lenn Tauro. Ms. Deepthi D’Souza
compered the programme, while Ms. Anna Patrao welcomed the gathering. Mr. Vinod
D’Souza, CAL Animator, introduced the resource person.
During the interactive session, Mr. Vijay D’Souza shared valuable insights into the
fundamentals of photography, explaining camera lenses, aperture, ISO, shutter speed,
composition, lighting techniques, and creative storytelling. He also demonstrated effective
methods of creating engaging social media reels using smartphones and simple editing

techniques. The youth participated enthusiastically, asking several curious and thought-
provoking questions, making the session highly interactive and informative. The programme

concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Sherwin D’Souza.
More than 60 members of CAL and YCS actively participated in the workshop, making the
inaugural programme of IGNITE 2026 a grand success and an enriching learning experience
for all.
